really seems a 1920´s record, noisy and blur.
By: jfk1961 on Jan, 18 2015
Ah but... what a gem to hear what that organ sounded like at that time and to hear Courboin's undeniably, early 1900s interpretation of an art song. Historical gold! |

Seems to me like that was an odd choice for a solo stop. |

low quality of sound is manifestly audible....
By: MusicDonor2014 on Jul, 13 2016
I disagree. For the time in which this was likely recorded, I think it is manifestly wonderful. |

Come, Sweet Death, before I have to listen to any more of the wandering pitch from this obvious LP recording.
By: vause on Jun, 19 2014
SatanBane's comment made me laugh out loud! :) Although I, too, detect the audio distortion, I do appreciate this recording is available to help us calibrate apparent tempo, expression and (to a limited extent) registration. I do think there are better recordings he did.

A better recording is the Command Records 1964 release, "Virgil Fox Plays the John Wanamaker Organ." It is in the Organ live Library. |

What is with the interruption of some comment about the piece and performer in the middle of this? |
